WORKCLAIMS AUSTRALIA won a major wage theft case in the Industrial Magistrate’s Court on Friday. Gavin Smith had been employed by a financial planning firm for nearly 10 years when he was dismissed in November 2017. He was today awarded more than $45,000 for unpaid annual leave and unpaid long service leave. The Judge has reserved her decision on the question of penalty for breaches of the Fair Work Act 2009.
